OBJECTIVE
To develop a complete craft beer brand identity from scratch, including naming, logo design, tagline, illustrated label system, and packaging extensions. The goal was to create a visually distinctive, collectible beer series that feels energetic, memorable, and immediately eye-catching within the competitive craft beer market.
PROCESS
This project began with a blank slate: no name, no visuals. I came up with the brand name ALE YEAH and the tagline “Sip the good times” to set a playful, high-energy tone from the start. From there, I designed the logo to feel punchy and expressive, fitting right into the craft beer world while still standing out.
Each beer style inspired a unique illustrated character, from a psychedelic skull to a fiery demon, all drawn in Illustrator with bold, wavy shapes and punchy colors. I treated the typography as part of the artwork, letting it move dynamically with the label forms. The brand system extended to the neck labels and bottle caps for a fully immersive experience.
To tie it all together, I mocked the bottles up in a studio-style presentation that made the fictional product feel shelf-ready and real. This project was all about storytelling through colour, type, and character, and building a brand people would want to drink and collect.
Early concept sketches exploring logo placement, character development, and dynamic typography before refining the final label system.
